If you’ve seen coyotes coming up to your house, it’s a good idea to supervise your children and pets when they’re outside, and have noise makers handy for coyote hazing, if necessary. If there are open (and easily accessible) food sources - like half-empty dog food dishes, compost bins, or overflowing garbage cans - you could be encouraging repeat visitors. If this seems to be the case, there’s generally nothing you need to do, other than making sure any children and pets are secure, and that there aren’t any tempting open food sources nearby.
